Have written about Gold Cup and Cheltenham for today’s Racing Post - Native River/Might Bite, the best duel I have ever seen. See if you agree. Lucky about the snow!

One of the great gold cups'.superb race

I think a bit of perspective is needed here. Yes, a great duel amd in that sense a great race, but the third was only 4 lengths down and has distinctly average form in Ireland this year
I'm not bitter, although I did back Might Bite.

Re: Day Four(4)Chelt Comp Nap Picks.
Winners were:-

Soldo - £250
Danny 2nd - £150 + 4th daily winner £30
Mr Burns day 1 - £30
JAFKD day 2 - £30
Wickford day 3 - £30

Typically everyone who has won a prize done bank transfers, so other than Soldo's which I already have, can the rest of you Whomail me to let me know where you want the wedge transferred to please?

Cheers

Re: Day Four(4)Chelt Comp Nap Picks.
Thanks for organising chaps, my favourite 4 days of the racing year. The first 3 days of this year were actually pretty good for punters.

Congratulations to Soldo, kicking myself a bit as I did Pacha Du Polder in an EW Yankee. At least Native River came up for me on that one as well.

Mind you I can't believe you guys didn't pay out to the 3rd in a 20 runner race (smiley winky thing).

Never saw the last two races only just heard there was 3 horses that died in the Grand Annual... that's appalling... have to admit the ground looked fucked...

Re: Day Four(4)Chelt Comp Nap Picks.
Been busy all week with work so left the nags alone.
Met up with a few pals to watch the nags today and won fuck all.
Had a brilliant day watching the sport of kings.
Indoors now probably £500 down.
Betting, booze and grub.
Gold Cup day is as far as I'm concerned is the best day of the sporting calendar day of the year.

Brough Scott called that the best race ever. Better than Grundy and Bustino.

N River and Might Bite at each others side for over 3 miles. No other horse in sight.

Great Cheltenham overall.

Re: Day Four(4)Chelt Comp Nap Picks.
This for Sold0:

The Gold Cup was switched to the "New Course" in 1959, and this is now the regular track used for the event. In the mid-1960s the race was dominated by ARKLE, who won three consecutive runnings from 1964 to 1966. Such was ARKLE's perceived superiority before the last of these victories that he was given a starting price of 1/10 (a £10 bet would have won £1). He remains the shortest-priced winner in the race's history.
